The episode deals with people from different ethinic and racial backgrounds who had an opinion of whether they thought someone should date outside of their race. What I noticed during the disccussions was that there was no clear conscensus of it being right or wrong. But what I did find was that it depended on your personal feelings. You either liked someone or your didn't. It seemed that it was WRONG if it wasn't something that you agreed with or were interesting in persuing. On the other hand, It was RIGHT if it was something that either didn't bother you are you saw the person as a human, instead of a color or background.
You may be asking me why I wanted to write about this topic. This seems to tie right back into the issue of whether Gay and Lesbian couples should marry. While watching the Anderson show, it occured to me that people should not care about something that has nothing to do with them. You obviously will not like something if it is not for you. The same goes for Gay/Lesbian marriage. You will not like and or agree with it because it is not for your, nor is it about you.
I have said this many times and I wish just someone in the political world would hear me. "It should not take a majority vote for something that affects a minority group". Obviously if it is something that affect only a minority group of people, then the majority of the people will not be for it nor will they understand it. I don't expect a straight person to understand why a gay person wants to get married. But what I don't expect is for a straight person to care that I am or am not able to get married if I am gay.

you are sooooo right. if you are not gay or lesbian then, you should not worry if the gay and lesbians in the world are marring. if they aren't marring you then, should you really care about it??? i'm straight and married and frankly i do care that gay men and lesbians get to experience the same things i get to experience as a married woman. if i'm miserable you should have to go through the same thing. if i get to have a stressful wedding, you should too. if i get to have the same last name as my children then SO SHOULD YOU. period!!! you pay taxes in this state and this country. you should have the same rights that i have. that is my thoughts anyway. :)
I think you might be surprised at how many straight people think you should be able to get married. Under no curcumstance should someone be denied a legal union because of what they do in the bedroom. Berdoom activities should stay in the bedroom...for all people. Bedroom activites are PRIVATE and the government, nor anyone else, has any busines sticking it's nose it there.
